Marsh Tails Edition #12 – April 2026
We started the month off in cool and breezy conditions in the kayaks. We participated in the Sodium Big Fish Classic Tournament and the Hagan Coastal Outfitters Marsh Madness kayak fishing tournaments.
Marsh Tails Edition #11 – March 2026
Recent weather made it tough on the fish to figure out if they should still be in their lethargic Winter behavior patterns or if Spring was on our doorstep and they should start spending more energy looking for food. We had particularly windy conditions which made throwing lures to fish with accurate casts a challenge.
Marsh Tails Edition #10 – February 2026
January brought us several stretches of bitter cold Winter weather. The cold fronts had some significant warming trends between them but nothing substantial enough to pull us out of true Wintertime fishing tactics in cold water.

Nor’easters and offshore storms made fishing tough, but the start of the annual mullet run sparked strong fall action. Redfish were abundant, flounder steady, and trout numbers rose with the dropping water temperatures.
Marsh Tails Edition #5 – September 2025
Fishing in our favorite North Jacksonville creek systems slowed a bit with the intense heat and storms of August, so we changed our routine a bit to stay on the fish.
