2026 Marsh Madness Inshore Kayak Fishing Tournament

Inaugural Event

Captain’s Meeting:

• Friday, March 27th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
• Hagan Coastal Outfitters – 12501 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, Florida 32223
• Led by Tournament Director, Domenic Paniccia, assisted by Ron Lendvay and Sandy Stark

Registration Required: $50 entry fee to be paid at Captain’s Meeting

Tournament Format

Format:

• Catch, photo, release tournament using a specific identifier in the picture provided by tournament organizers during the Captain’s Meeting.
• All catches will be measured and photographed using a solid Ketch board, Yak Attack board or similar hard nonflexible measuring device any questions on specific devices can be directed to the tournament organizers.

Species:

• This will be a redfish, trout, and flounder tournament with each angler submitting a photo of their best individual species within the tournament parameters. There will be a top three finish in each species. The redfish species will be the best two within the slot. The flounder and trout will be their best one.
• All photos will be reviewed by a tournament organizer.
• There will also being a one winner slam category for the angler that turns in the slam with the most inches using the combined three species. The slam winner is considered the best overall angler therefore they will not be eligible for the individual species wins and the slam.
• If three species are not caught by any angler, it will switch to the top two different species.

Qualifying Fish:

• This will be the largest in inches, not weight fish caught within the FWC legal limits. Example: Redfish will be between 18 and 27 inches. Trout will be over 15 inches. Flounder will be over 14 inches.

Spots Category

• In addition to the above winning species categories, we will have a spots category for the Redfish of any size that has the most spots.
• A photo will need to be taken of said fish with the identifier on one side for submission, however no measuring board or size limits or minimums are required.

Fishing Parameters

• On the morning of the tournament, the individual is required to take a photo with the identifier to provide at the weigh in and they may launch.
• Lines in the water will be determined and set during the captains’ meeting the night prior.
• Anglers may launch in any public waterway they desire with the understanding that lines cannot be in the water until the determined time and they must be in line for weigh in and validation of catches at the Hagan Coastal Outfitters location between 2pm and 4pm., with an absolute cut off at 4pm.

Kayaks Allowed:

• All kayaks, paddle or pedal driven, human powered or trolling motor.
• No john boats Gheenoes etc.
• All motors will be less than 55 pounds of thrust.
• No mother shipping of any kayaks.
• There will be no exiting of kayaks to wade fish.

Bait Allowed:

• Artificial or live bait is permitted.
• Aftermarket scents are allowed, as well. Pro cure, alive etc.

Sportsmanship

• Please remember this is a charity tournament and sportsmanship is to be kept at the utmost standard.
• There will be no fighting, cursing or other inappropriate behavior tolerated and any angler can be disqualified for said behavior by a tournament organizer with a forfeiture of your tournament entry fee.
